We will be glad to answer any questions you may have regarding Yorkshire Terriers.
Yorkshire Terriers are great companions and wonderful lap dogs. Although they are small, don't let that fool you. They think they are "big dogs" and they are afraid of nothing!
My Yorkies think it is their job to chase the cows fearlously away from the fence in our yard. Luckily, they stop at the fence!

Some breeders use names such as: Toy Yorkies, Tinies, and Teacup Yorkies. These names have been invented to market the different weights of Yorkies.
If you are wanting a female Yorkshire Terrier to breed, you should get a female that is a few pounds larger than the male.
When looking for a pet for your child, a larger Yorkie of 6 to 8 lbs. would be be less likely to become hurt during play.
My yorkie parents range from 4-7 lbs. I use parent weight as a predictor for adult weight of the puppy. NO one can promise you that your puppy will weigh a certain amount when it is grown.
Yorkie puppies come into this world mostly black with just a touch of brown on their ears. Don't let this fool you as the color and texture of their hair changes within just a few weeks. Colors continue to change often for years. Sometimes they look as though their ears are too big for their heads. This too changes as they grow into them!
Tails are docked at 3-4 days old. If you don't wish to have your puppy's tail docked, then make contact with a breeder before the birth of your puppy.
